Joining the likes of Stella McCartney, L Saha and more designers, Gelareh Designs took part in the Sustainable Fashion Show this week at COP28. Canadian musician Avril Lavigne is known to wear both Gelareh and McCartney designs when performing and in fashion magazines.
Both McCartney and Gelareh Designs have taken steps to make their fashions more sustainable.
It was their chance to show the world how we need to move forward in the fashion landscape.
Designer Gelareh Alam says she’s “thrilled to be part of this inspiring event,” adding that she’s excited for this “eco-fashion revolution.” Her avant-garde designs are made-to-order, minimizing waste.
Alam has designed for Missy Elliott, the late Prince and more celebrities.
Meanwhile, McCartney had a special pop-up shop at COP28 and spoke with climate leaders about being one of the first luxury designers to be eco-friendly from the very beginning. She’s finding more ways to design sustainably by working with startups.
