Kardashian’s “nipple bra” might be an interesting way for her to raise awareness of the climate crisis — with her promising 10 per cent of sales will be donated to the climate cause — but she’s also raising awareness of greenwashing for profits by earthrise.studio.
In an Instagram post titled, ‘Keeping Up with the Klimate Krisis,’ earthrise.studio raises the question, “Does Kim’s new advert do the climate movement any favours?”
In the comments section of the post, some argued that “any publicity is good publicity,” while others agreed that Kardashian’s product is fuelling the fossil fuel industry with the newly derived nylon and spandex material.
Meanwhile, an eco-friendly alternative brand — which uses 80 per cent of its material sourced from bamboo — is Boody. Another green option is Spanx’s ecocare line, which uses yarns made from recycled nylon.
