We love vegan musician and PETA activist Billie Eilish for staying true to who she is and we’re thrilled she won the 2024 Best Original Song Golden Globe Award for, “What Was I Made For?”, from the “Barbie” movie.
Eilish’s signature style is also eco-friendly, with the star revealing to reporters on the red carpet that she pulled items from her closet for her winning outfit and that she bought some of the pieces in a thrift store.
While accepting the Golden Globe trophy, alongside her brother Finneas, Eilish got emotional and credited being chosen to write this song with “saving me,” through a difficult time in her life.
“Barbie” also took home the Golden Globe for Best Picture Cinematic and Box Office achievement, with stiff competition, with Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig accepting the trophy and celebrating with co-star America Ferrera whose character made an empowering speech in the groundbreaking film.
Canada’s own Ryan Gosling, who was nominated for his role as Ken in the “Barbie” movie, also had a good time at the awards show, mingling — in his look that gave great “Kenergy” — with Meryl Streep. Gosling also took to the stage with the cast when the film won Best Picture Cinematic and Box Office achievement.
