This autumn, David Suzuki is recommending we let nature run its course and leave our fallen leaves alone.

While it is tempting to get out the leaf blower when leaves start collecting on your yard, Suzuki says an unkept lawn might actually benefit nature.

Both soil health and wild animals — including pollinators — can be helped by leaves in the winter.

And you might be happy come spring, when your soil reaps the benefits of the fallen leaves on the ground throughout the colder months. Not to mention having pollinators help your garden when temperatures rise next year.
