“The Last of Us” is up for three Golden Globes this year, one for Drama TV Series, another with Bella Ramsey up for Best Actress in a Drama TV Series and Pedro Pascal is competing in the Best Actor in a Drama TV Series category. The show is about life after a global pandemic destroys civilization, when one of the last remaining survivors helps a young teenage girl, 14, who may be the only hope for humanity. The Environmental Media Association (EMA) has also recognized “The Last of Us” season 1, episode 1 as a TV Episodic Drama nominee at the 2023 EMA Awards, as first reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Two-time Golden Globe winner, Joaquin Phoenix, is nominated for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy this year for his role in “Beau is Afraid”. The vegan actor has done his part to further animal rights as an activist and we’re definitely rooting for him at the awards ceremony on Sunday night.

Five-time Golden Globe Awards host Ricky Gervais is not back to host in 2024, but the animal-loving, vegan PETA activist is back this year as a Golden Globe nominee for Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television for “Ricky Gervais: Armageddon”. Gervais previously won a Golden Globe trophy for his role in “The Office” in 2004. Let’s go Ricky!

“Elemental” is an animated film that touches on a family of climate migrants that are forced to leave their homelands after a storm destroyed their village. It is nominated for a 2024 Golden Globe Award in the Best Motion Picture, Animated category. We’re rooting for this film to take home the gold!

Last, but not least, Ryan Gosling is being recognized for his role as Ken in the “Barbie” movie, up for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture, as well as for Best Original Song, with “I’m Just Ken”. Now, Gosling’s Ken not only won over the hearts of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for being more than “Kenough” in Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” movie, he was also a winner in PETA’s 2023 Fashion Awards for his good guy fashion sense. Canadian-born Gosling is definitely a winner in our books!

Who else will be keeping a close eye for eco-friendly fashions on the 2024 Golden Globe Awards red carpet on Sunday night and to see which of these green-friendly productions takes home a trophy? Tell us in the comments!
