What an inspiring way to mark her birthday this year — author Margaret Atwood is helping to save birds by matching donations to Nature Canada before her big day, Saturday, Nov. 18.
In a press release, Nature Canada says, “This year she is asking Canadians to join her to save bird lives. Like you, Margaret is so passionate about protecting bird species in our backyards, parks, and conservation areas. That’s why she is stepping-up and matching every donation made to Nature Canada.”
Atwood will match “every single gift up to $15,000,” at a time when one in three bird species in North America need immediate protection.
The charitable organization lists the biggest threats to Canada’s birds as “habitat degradation, climate change, plastics, neonics, and other human impacts.”
So wish Canadian icon Margaret Atwood a happy birthday by helping to save birds today.
