Cannes Film Festival Goes Greener, Tracking Its Carbon Footprint

The Cannes Film Festival announces it “intends to participate in the fight against climate change” by tracking and reducing its carbon footprint.

Since 2021, the coveted event has introduced three concrete ways of doing this.

Cannes is “reducing” its carbon emissions and is committed to waste reduction. It is also “reusing and recycling” its residual resources. Plus, it is “supporting” projects that benefit the environment.

This year’s festival will see fellow green jurors, for the official feature selection films, Lily Gladstone and Greta Gerwig.

One of the year’s biggest films, “Barbie” received the Environmental Media Association’s Green Gold Seal of Approval for green productions.
