In an Instagram post, musician Jann Arden says she is “grateful to be alive. Grateful for good health. Grateful for a career” that she still enjoys. Her message goes on to “hope 2024 wakes us all up from our apathy — thinking the problems of the world will be solved by somebody else. The somebody else – is you and me … 2024 has to be better.”
Ryan Gosling kicks off the Christmas season by joining forces again with Mark Ronson to bring a little Kenergy to the holidays with a festive rendition of “I’m Just Ken”. Just in time for Christmas, Ronson and Gosling got the news that the song was shortlisted for Best Song at the 2024 Academy Awards. The official Oscar nominations will be announced on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024. Of course, Ken is already a winner, winning a 2023 PETA Fashion Award for his good guy fashion sense in the “Barbie” movie!

1. “Avatar: The Way of Water”, directed by James Cameron, covers important environmental themes, but was also part of a fundraising campaign to help save the world’s oceans in real life. The Keep our Oceans Amazing viral fundraising campaign involved fans creating their own “Avatar”-inspired ocean creature and for each one created in the Virtual Pandoran Ocean, Disney gave $5 to The Nature Conservancy. This movie was powered by solar electricity and Cameron had only plant-based food served on the film’s set. “Avatar: The Way of Water” is available to stream on Disney+:
Joining the likes of Stella McCartney, L Saha and more designers, Gelareh Designs took part in the Sustainable Fashion Show this week at COP28. Canadian musician Avril Lavigne is known to wear both Gelareh and McCartney designs when performing and in fashion magazines.
